Me and my husband are on a fixed income from S.S.Disability. We also take care of my 60 year old brother who lives with us and has limited income. He is Mentally Handicapped and just had cancer surgery and now has to go thru radiation. On top of his medical bills and health I just had open heart surgery 2 months ago. I had my first stroke in 2006 and that is when they found the 2 quarter sized holes in the back of my heart. The tried patching them, but the next year after the strokes continued they put a bigger patch on trying to cover them. In 2009 and 2010 I was hospitalized 15 times with heart and TIA and Stroke. Aug 09 I had blood clots in both lungs and my left leg. This is because I have a clotting factor, actually 2 of them to date. Factor 2(which is extremely rare) and Factor 5. 2 months ago I had another stroke and had no choice but to have open heart surgery, so they could remove the old patches and cover the back of my heart with Bovine. $ 90,000. plus During all this time we fell behind on our morgage, utilities, propane(and winter is coming), and just everything. I am so stressed out I just sit and cry..... I go to the food pantry, that is our only source of food. We make $200 to much a month for medicaide(I don't know how they figure).If anyone would like to open their Hearts and give.... I don't know how I'll be able to repay you except thru prayer. I'm a single mom with a teenager daughter. Until recently, we're doing okay but barely making it.  Each month it a dilemma as to which bill will get paid.  Its gotten so hard that I can't even afford food to feed us.  I've trying welfare but I don't qualify because of my income.  I don't make alot of money and I've gotten behind on several of my bills. I am so glad that I found this sight; I am not looking for any help for myself. I am trying to find help for my nephew, he is 47 years old and is Quadriplegic-paralyzed from neck down (since the age of 18 diving accident). Through the years I have done a pretty good job in helping family and friends anyway I can whether it be a little money for something they need, but moreso with my time.

That's why I'm here. My nephew who has been in and out of nursing homes, recently was able to get his own apartment again.. He  does qualifiy for assistants to come in at certain times of the day to get up him, fix his food, feed him, and put him to bed, basically the aide covers his basic needs.

He is so happy now at having independence and his own apartment; the thought that he may have to go back into a nursing home is unbearable for him, he loves his apartment.

Dennis, my nephew, receives around 650.00 a month and 84.00 in foodstamps to get through each month. He does have a reduced rent of around 135.00, which does not include his electric bill.

All he has that he really enjoys right now are his television shows; he is hoping that in the near future that he will be able to have internet, but he realizes he cannot take on an extra payment each month. He is so good with using his a device that he puts in his mouth for his keyboard.

As I stated, normally I would be able to help with this, but I left my job last year when my mother was diagnosed with a brain tumor, so right now we only have my husband's income and there is usually nothing left, but somehow manage each month, I am just thankful that my husband still has a full time job.

My nephew is one of the kindest most caring people you could meet; he has never given up that one day he may be able to walk again, or at least regain use of his arms so he can do things for himself. He has a really good attitude and great personality...it makes me feel bad when I complain so much about my life when I think of what he has to face each day. Having to depend on someone for even a drink of water.

I thought that I would take a chance posting here; I will continue to search in the meantime to see if I can find some financial assistance for his past due bills in order for him to get caught up.

I realize that there is always a risk of helping anyone just by reading their post. If anyone can  off any help, I will be glad to mail a picture of him...I have some, but I don't have a scanner to be able to post his picture. I'm sure that he would have no problem with me giving his phone number to anyone who may be in a position to help. I can also provide anyone with  proof that he is a Quadriplegic and does have his own apartment and is in desperate need at this point in his life.

This is the first time in all the years my nephew while having his own place has asked and needed help (he is very careful with what little he receives each month). He finally called me because he had he is ready to lose his television along with his cable for the television. I hope and pray that I can find help for him, television is one of the things that helps each get through the day. Being a paralyzed from the neck down, there aren't many things he can do to pass his time each day.

Even if no one who reads this can provide assistance, ( I totally understand given the bad economy) I would appreciate any places that anyone may know of that may be willing to help.

I will read any messages he receives over the phone to him until I see him along with forwarding the messages to his email so they will be waiting in his in box when he does get his internet.

Please feel free to send Dennis a message; he loves to meet new people, receive messages, and he will reply when he does have access to internet. He doesn't have many friends to talk too, it's hard for him to get out of his apartment.

Hello, I am a single mother of 3(ages 3,9,11), I work full time and am also a full time student. I am looking for assistance in paying back rent to avoid eviction.  I like many others am living check to check. I missed a few weeks of work being out with my son during his surgery and needless to say I fell behind on my bills. I am slowly getting the utilities caught up but desperately need help with the rent.  I am behind $1840 and any contributions would help, whether .50 cents, $1, $5 every little bit would be appreciated.  I am even willing to set up a payment plan to pay it back if need be. No money has to ever touch my hands, I can give you the name, address and phone number to my apartment rental company. I have been to local charities who tell me my income is too high to qualify for assistance and my church can't help with the funds either. It's funny how my job is the one thing stopping me from getting assistance.  If I had no income then the local places would assist me. My mother is no longer living and my father is pretty much in a similar situation as he was just layed off and his wife is carrying all of their bills on a smaller income than mine. Again, I would be extremely grateful for anything someone could bless me with. Thanks!

We are having the same problem no matter how hard we try we can't saty afloat, and now it is Christmas time and we need to buy our kid's presents and have to choose between paying the bills or buying the presents....sucks, this time of year is always the hardest but we struggle all year long...is there any help out there, of course because of past due bills, which are mostly medical because we have a son with brain CA and two shunts in his head, which has been a night mare, there just is no way I can see us ever getting out of this "rut" so we can't qualify for a loan, we cant get a new car which now we are borrowing family members vehicles to travel the 5 hr, trip to his Doctors which at the most has been 3 times in one month...it is just never ending....

You don't know me but I'm sure you know others like me.
We are the people who live in poverty everyday of our lives.
Last year my husband saw my uncle out(noone had seen him for some time) and he found out that my uncle had been living on the street.
We took him in not knowing the extent of why my uncle was homeless-he was an alcoholic and had terminal cancer.
Eventhough we barely were getting by we gave him a home and I took care of him the best that I could with the limited knowledge of the disease that I had.
He was with us a year before succumbing to cancer and liver failure.
The past year has taken it's toll on us mentally, physically,emotionaly, and financialy.
The family refused to help pay for his funeral eventhough he was their brother and we were stuck with the bill.
We took out a car loan to make a down payment on his funeral and have been trying our best since then to stay afloat.
The beginning of june they turned off our water and now we are facing a car repo if nothing works out for us.
Our internet is 2 months behind and I am sure will be turned off anytime.(I am not asking for help to keep the internet-it's not important to us)
What I would like is to be able to take a hot shower instead of leaving jugs of water outside to get warm enough to wash up.
Water back on would help alot!
We only have the one vehicle between us and it would help to be able to keep it from being repoed.
It would also help to get some groceries as we have been limited to potatoes,ramen noodles and instant oatmeal for awhile.
What it would take to get everything caught up and get us back on our feet again would be about $500 dollars.
That may not seem like much to you but it would mean the world to us.
Our incomes combined is only around 1000 or so a month and after paying rent and utilities that doesn't leave much for gas and groceries let alone water.
I used to have such a different outlook about this world but when your down it seems people like to keep you there.
The ones I've came across has done nothing but ridicule me for taking my uncle in knowing the burden it would place on us.
I don't regret it for one moment and if given the chance I will do it again for someone else in need.
Please help restore my faith in humanity and help as you are able even if it's just some kind words of encourage ment or prayers.
I will be able to get back on my feet again and I promise you what is done for me will be repayed to others! god bless

We need help making this months house payment and bills which we are behind on. We have no money for food or warm clothes for our new baby. hello, i'm not the type of person who normally asks for help, but i find myself in a situation to do so.

i'm facing eviction, my employment has been a few days here and there. i dont know what else to do. i am seeking full-time work, but i need some financial help before i'm put out on the street.

i tried help from the local community programs, in one case i had to be one in 15 callers, you can imagine, right. i just need help right now. i need at least $500 to get caught up, until i become gainfully employed again.

I'm not sure how this page works, but I found this by searching online because I am extremely desperate at the moment. I am a single mother of two beautiful daughters, age 3 & 8 (soon to be 9 & 4) in the next couple of months. I am a full time student, so right now I have no time to work. I am completely broke being a student. Federal funds only pay me $292 a month. I am about to lose my home, I just got the first decent running car of my life & someone wrecked it while it was parked on the street. Ugh, liability insurance of course so no way to fix my car. My daughters' birthdays are August 8th & September 8th. School is coming up and my oldest will be in 3rd grade (I can't believe she's growing so fast) and my baby will be starting Head Start (I'm going to miss her). I have no money for the birthdays, school supplies, to fix my car, for bills, I can't remember the last time I bought anything for myself. I just want my daughters to have a decent birthday, decent school clothes and supplies, and I want to catch up on my bills, and fix my car. I hate asking for money, it can be so degrading sometimes as a single parent. You want to provide a certain life for your kids and just cannot sometimes. Very hard to swallow as a parent of any kind I'm sure. The amount I'm asking for may seem large, but compared to what needs to be taken care of soon on my end, I won't have any left over for pleasure. Anything will help though, absolutely any amount at this point. I'm not sure how this site works, but I'm so glad I found it, and thank you so much in advance if anyone wants to lend a helping hand to me and my children. I will be forever grateful! The amount I have come up with to help fix my car, my daughters' birthdays, bills, and school clothes/supplies is (embarrassed to type it) $7,000. I hate to put down that amount because it looks HUGE on here, but trust me, it will all be used for necessities. Thank you again so much.
